Passing of a Friend
Arizona Republic Friday February 27, 2004
Jack W. Beasley entered into rest on February 24, 2004. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Leah M Beasley: his daughter, Bonnie Mower; sons, Major Jack Jr (wife, Mule) and David Beasley; and 5 grandchildren. Jack graduated from Arizona State University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Following graduation, he was employed in the aeronautical/aerospace industry for many years where his most lasting contribution may be his part in the design of the gatling guns on the "Warthog," an aircraft currently in service in the Middle East. Eventually he struck out on his own and up until the time of his death developed a variety of businesses based on his engineering talents. Jack was a member of the Arizona Air National Guard with active duty during the Berlin Crisis stationed in France. He contributed his considerable talents to the Boy Scouts of America, serving as a Cub Scout Packmaster, Scoutmaster, sponsor for the Order of the Arrow, and District Commissioner for the Theodore Roosevelt Council. Jack was a member of the Glendale Kiwanis Club where he again contributed time and talent to club projects and events. He served as President and Director of the Arizona Hobbyist Council, a lobbyist organization dedicated to the preservation of the antique cars, a cause dear to his heart. He was also the founder and President of the Western Fiat Fanciers club, again, a club dedicated to the preservation of a type of Italian sports cars. Jack was also an artist, He had a talent for cartooning, painting and photography. His favorite pastime in more recent years was four-wheeling in back country Arizona, capturing it on film.
