3-8-05 Legislative Update On HB2357

The Collectible Vehicle & Motorcycle Emissions-Test Exemption Bill

House Bill 2357 had its first Senate hearing on Tuesday 3-8-05 in the Arizona Senate Transportation Committee and it passed unanimously 5 to 0.

Again, a BIG THANKS needs to go out to all of the vehicle hobbyists and motorcyclists who showed-up and e-mailed and called-in as in-favor of this bill. Again, It was really great team-work on short notice by all involved.

Also, If you can find the time, call or send an e-mail thanking the 5 Senate Transportation Committee members who voted YES on HB2357. I've re-printed their contact info at the bottom of this e-mail to make it easier for you to thank them.

Show them you appreciate their vote for our concerns, (as we will also need their vote again during the Senate's upcoming "3rd Read" with its Full-Floor Vote on HB2357, when we will need 16 of the 30 available Senate votes to pass the bill out of the Senate).

HB2357's next stop along the long and winding road to becoming a law will be in the Az Senate Rules Committee on a Monday to be announced in the near future.

We will try to keep everyone updated as the bill moves through the Az Senate. So stay tuned for more "Alert's" on HB2357.

This long and drawn-out democratic process is both treacherous and wonderful at the same time. Thanks for all of your continued interest and support along the long and winding road to "Exemption Point."

Please forward this e-mail alert to as many of Arizona's vehicle enthusiasts as you can AND be sure to spread the word about HB2357 to all of your off-line friends and vehicle club members too. We are all needed to keep everyone updated as the 100 day 2005 Az Legislative session rolls along.

We need everyone spreading the word and calling their Az State Legislators to make sure this bill passes into law. The time has come to exempt the vehicles whose emissions are insignificant to our urban air-quality problems.
