URGENT AZ ALERT -- HB 2136 -- "Unauthorized Assembly of
Vehicles; Penalty"
This anti-cruising bill authorizes the police to determine if YOU are a
participant in an "Unauthorized Assembly" (which remains undefined)
and then issue YOU a $100 ticket and tow away YOUR CAR !!!
This statewide bill has been passed out of the House and the Senate.
It was amended slightly in the Senate, and is now back in the House for a Final
Read. This will probably occur on Tuesday, 4-20-04.
HB 2136 needs to be STOPPED in the House NOW or VETO'ed by the Governor.
<(If it passes out of the Az House Tuesday 4-20-04,
the Governor <will have 5 days, including weekends, to veto it or let
it pass <into state law.)
Contact both your Az State Representatives immediately and ask them to vote
NO. Also contact the Governor and ask her to VETO this bill.
